RNG and IMT win Group B openers

The first Group B opener saw Renegades and TSM go head to head, with the former coming out on top 16-9 on Cobblestone. The second match featured FaZe and Immortals. It was the Brazilian team that took it after overtime, 19-17, to earn a spot in the winners’ match.
The first round of Cobblestone went the way of Renegades, as two opening frags by Karlo "USTILO" Pivac got the Australian side an opening into the A site. Up three zero and with TSM having heavily bought the two previous rounds, the North American side were unable to close out the round despite eliminating all of Renegades as the bomb ticked down all the way.
Despite his team’s loss, sick still put on an impressive display
TSM were able to put the first one on the board in the sixth round, but were quickly reset by the Detroit based team on the following, 6-1. A huge round by Hunter "SicK" Mims with a 3vs1 clutch and bomb defusal kept TSM in contention, denying Renegades a chance to immediately run away. With things going their way and propelled by a superb SicK, TSM started to bring the game back to their territory, forcing Renegades to take a timeout with 7-4 on the board.
The half eventually ended 8-7 for Renegades, with both teams going back and forth. The Australian team got the upper hand on the CT side, as they were able to win the pistol round and following ecos to establish an 11-7 lead. Renegades then cemented their lead by winning the first buy round and the following eco before allowing TSM to take one, going up 13-8. The Australian side were then able to keep the momentum and closed the map out 16-9 for a spot in the winners’ match.

Immortals tried the same play on the pistol buy. This time, they made it into the site, but FaZe were able to defuse the bomb and take the round. Håvard "rain" Nygaard opened an eco round with three deagle kills allowing FaZe to get into a 1vs1 situation, but Henrique "HEN1" Teles was able to close it out for a five round lead. Late in the half, FaZe were finally able to bring the half somewhat back with seven rounds to keep their chances alive.
